Some Moving…..

There is a bit of transitioning that has been going on behind the scenes, which is part of the reason that I have not been available to post.  Real life had danced with illnesses back to back, exams, and other things.  Its been a two month over run, so to speak.  April will still be filled and May I will have some time freed up for virtual wonders and games.

I will write more as I can.  For now, please take note the the blog is moving to my domain as I am centralizing my content.  You can find it at www.neoma.oncedarkness.com – the content here will be shut down at the end of the month.  I am moving away from the NVhe name, because there are three real life entities that use Nvhe as their initials.  To avoid confusion, I will be re-branding old content and releasing new content under the name neoma.  I am changing strategies with my content release as well, so that it is available to Open Sim as well as the virtual world of Second Life.

Until then…..look for the rest of the blogs to appear at the new address.  😀

New Eyes In Creation

I wanted to create a set of eyes for my mermaid avatar.  I studied various eyes of fish and underwater creatures.  At first it was none to interesting, until I figured out that pictures do not actually pick up the colors very well.  My trip to the Mystic Aquarium this summer was part of an exploration in a study on fish eyes.  Some are very pretty.  Unlike anything I have seen before.

It is hard to imagine what a mermaids eyes would be like.  I do not agree with the standard viewpoint of what a mermaid would look like to start with.  Anything living under the water has to have skin that can survive under the water for long periods of time.  Human skin will actually fall apart after a while.  It was not designed to be immersed in water for extremely long periods of time.  The idea that a mermaid would have the same type of breasts or breasts at all just doesn’t sit with me very well.  But hey, that is the fantasy in this creature as well.  LOL!

At any rate, I wanted to create eyes that reflect the depth of the ocean and seas, the darkness that exists in the deep and the exciting colors that appear. I have made these eyes as my sample eyes and have been tweaking them.  Now its time to create variations with color. What do you think?

neoma ~ Stormy Eyes

The wind blows and sings it song as the trees dance to its melody.  Clouds swirl and the world thunders in a storm crying out.  You can see the things around you clearly, but there is little light fallen upon them.  Just a seemingly grey or dark shadow dancing about in the midst of the storm.  These eyes capture your darkest storms and convey them through their muted colors.

neoma ~ Mysty Eyes

A soft mist covers the world like a mysterious blanket.  It is hard to see the details of the images moving about in the mist, but you can make out a few things, as colors float around.  Swirling particles of color dance about.  Increase your mystery and get a bit Mysty with your favorite colors in these eyes.  *Sneaks in comment – Now I am caught up and only have five more lines to finish up.  LOL*

Pacific Crisis Fundraiser

Many people in my real life wonder what the attraction is that I have to virtual worlds.  This is a prime example.  God has graced me with so many examples of generosity, compassion and charity.  Sometimes more so then the real world around me.  This is where virtual living blends into real life living.  I am a blended person.

Japan experienced a most devastating event, which terrifies me deeply and at the same time breaks my heart.  The lives of the people in Japan are changed.  Time will tell the true impacts.  Lives were lost as 20 inch waves rolled over the coast line like a spilled glass of water across a table and destroyed whole communities, leveling many homes and businesses.  Bodies floating in the water with the debris and those able to survive riding on debris hoping and waiting for someone to rescue them.  Undoubtedly, praying there are no more waves to follow.

The virtual community has come together and organized a fundraiser.   Content Creators of all types from clothing to skins to eyes and even poses, jewelry and so much more, have come together with products that you use everyday in your virtual living to help raise funds to assist with this huge disaster.  The timing is conflicting with the Fashion For Life and Relay For Life activities which have just begun.  It is okay, because now you have access to more designers, a larger variety and every product you can imagine.  All designers are required to have at least one vendor donating 100% to the Pacific Crisis Fundraiser, with additional vendors at either 100% or 50%.  Funds will be distributed to Americares, an American based international charity that focuses on disaster relief and aid.  The event opens up on March 16, 2011.

I have created a new set of eyes specific for this event.  You can find them here in world and below are pictures of the eyes.  Each set is only 125L, contains six eyes that create a glimmer and attraction to your avatar.

You can also buy Linden Bears on the marketplace that are also raising funds through the virtual world of Second Life (R) right here: Linden Donation Bears

Now you know why I was so darn busy this weekend.  Donations are just the start.  Take note and make sure your family has an emergency preparedness plan and that you have emergency items on hand that you do not have to search for.  You won’t have five minutes to grab necessities when disasters such as these strike.
