Revitalizing !Exodus! Visit

Part of getting reacquainted with my virtual friends is going out and finding them. This is a bit difficult considering I get the shy bug easily. However, my friends at !Exodus! make it difficult to be too shy.

I popped in to see what was going on to find Kess was DJing. Kess is the club owner and a favie person of mine. I love her accent when she DJ’s. She told me, she now has a second club that has dance music instead of rock. Heaven for me as I like both. I have yet to do a field trip, but will be checking it out.

Some of the regulars were there rocking it out and having fun. It was good to see familiar faces and new faces as well. Check out the peeps!

Enter the Cutest Thing in Second Life ~ Bloom Dolls

Keeping up with my promise to one of my good friends, Nexeus, I was enjoying a Thursday night bebop at the Rouge Gallery and Lounge.  I found myself rezzing in the midst of the cutest set of avatars.  I danced a bit, talked with my friends and enjoyed the little bit of time I was able to get in.

Bloom3

I love these friends.  We have been friends a long time.  These are some of the crew that stood by me through Poppa’s passing, supported me going back to school and constantly cheer me on with my schooling and were there when I broke my elbow, lost the ability to draw and design, had the hissy fit and changed from Nyte Vargas to Neoma Vasilia.  These guys and my Second Life family (Mom, Dad and siblings) make up my virtual family.  Everyone should have friends like these.

At any rate, a tenant needed me and that cut my time short, but I was able to get these snaps.  You can find the Bloom Dolls at Sand Shack Surf Co., located here.  Bloom dolls do not come with clothing or accessories.  You need to supply the hair.  If you do not know how to manipulate or adjust prims, this avatar will be a wee bit complicated.

Make a folder for your Bloom doll, place copies of the hair and items you will be decking the doll out in and you will avoid ruining your hair and accessories, because you are simply modifying a copy.

Time Passes When Having Fun

My worlds collided a bit for a second there.  I am playing a game called Empire Avenue that is totally addicting, plus enjoying RIFT moments with some Second Life interspersed.  Not to mention, that real life that keeps interrupting my virtual living!  O.o

Anyway, I met this great person who I have befriended named Takeoy on Empire Avenue.  He is one of the few people from Second Life that actually remain and stuck with Empire Avenue.  We have become really good buds, Gypsy style (non committal, committal – lol), and I am enjoying it to the hilt.

It did make the dawggie go freaking nuts.  I had to put him on mute/ban because of the unrealistic drivel he was making up in his head.  He basically inferred that I was a ho, sleeping around and spending all my time playing games.  Pft!  Reality check please!   If I were playing games that heavily, my blogs would have fifteen posts a day and my dividends on Empire Avenue would be over the top.  O.o

Anyway, we went to a  dance club in world.  I forgot the name of it (sorry about that).  I will have to invite him as a guest writer so he can fill in the blanks.  LOL!  He had a friend that was Djing.  She does some awesome techno type rock and the club was hopping with people having regular conversations.  Not a lot of tip asking and I do not recall seeing people trying to strip for cash.  (I really hate that in a club…I go to dance and relate.  I can look at myself if I want to see a naked body.  O.o)

I took some really cool pictures!  Not sure what the dance was called but it had a jive aspect to it, with a bit of hip hop styling and a touch of modern.  It was the coolest couple dance that I have seen in Second Life.  I typically like movement and am really not into the all over you, let me molest you while we dance type dances.  Sooo uncomfortable!!  This dance was exciting, fast paced, cute and lots of fun.  I am going to have to find it!  It has been a long time since I have had that much fun in a virtual world.  No pressure, no expectation, no oppression, no rules.  Just a good time.  Like I said Gypsy style.

The Late But Great News!!! More !Exodus! & RFL

Last weekend, I was over at Exodus for a bit to catch some tunes, take a breath and study a bit.  Sometimes I just need good music when I study.  :p

I arrived to find myself stuck in an empty club!  O.o ZOMG!!! Panic ensued!! But there were peeps here and the DJ was groovin.  O.o  I thought maybe I was missing something.  So I gave a group shout out and asked if they were hiding the club and received an instant limo.  Apparently a transport was borked!

While there Kess was sharing some news with me.  !Exodus! had a segment in the Madpea Japan Fundraiser last weekend, with the wondrous, elegant and at times a little *coughs* not so innocent Kess DJing.  !Exodus! patrons responded to her call and raised the most in that one hour segment then others did.  Mind you this event went somewhere around 64 hours.  Amazing DJ’s, awesome owner and very real patrons that wasted no time to support the fundraising effort.    Incredible!!!

Kess shared with me that this coming weekend, there will be staff auctions to raise funds for Relay For Life.  Now this is what you need to do, if you want to have an awesome time, meet some talented and spicy peeps and at the same time raise funds to find a cure – go to this event.  You can contact Kess Crystal in world or buzz about !Exodus! (see past blogs for slurl – go ahead, click the tag – winks) and ask any staffer.  I am sure they have all the deets on that event.  Kess did not say this, but I know she wants to see if peeps will outdo their contributions for Japan.  I know every can do it!  Rock it!

On a side note, I heard through the grapevine that it is also the anniversary for !Exodus!.  That means awesome events over the weekend.  No matter what time you pick, there is always someone rocking in the club!  Need to find out about events, you should seriously join their group.  Yes, they have that much going on!!

So get out there this weekend, buy some staffers, rock away the weekend and enjoy the anniversary party.  Check out the themed events and ask about potential bands.  I promise you will not be let down.

On a side note…..sorry to Kess.  I know I said I would blog this late Saturday night, but time jumped through the window, kidnapped me and forced me to finish homework.  It was scaries!!!!  You and the club can spank me, but first you haz to find me and catch me.  O.o  (PST!  Look under couches, misc. furniture or inside cabinets.)

Enter Trouble at Lush

This past week, my sister Zadi wanted to talk to me.  We do not get to talk very often because our online hours are different.  Typically, my online hours from my virtual family is this way.  They are on in the day and I am typically on late in the evening, if at all.

Anyway, the two of us were chit chatting and it can be rest assured that when this happens, we are up to something.  That something I can’t discuss because a squirrel took it and secreted it away.  😛

As I studied for one of my real life law exams, Zadi gave me momentary measures of breaks from studying.  She teleported me to a club that she was hanging at named Lush.  Lush plays pretty much standard club music. Predominately pop dance music.  It is an okay club.  Not my style or taste, but we all know that I am biased towards the styling of the various types of Rock found at !Exodus!, as well as the people.  Every club has their following.

For me the downside to Lush is actually the things that are common in most virtual clubs.  You have the DJ, the Host or Hostess and a set of dancers.  All of which expect tips.  Honestly, I don’t want to listen to the emotes or watch a dancer dance, strip or entice.  Its plainly boring.  I rather the intimate teasing, jokes and conversations of the patron.  Someone emoting through the conversation is distracting and disruptive.  Really, my feeling is go to strip down club for that.  Don’t combine the two.  Blah!  Then you have the only true conversation going on being the dancers and the Hostess or Host spamming you with emotes or who you should tip at this great club – rawr!

Meh – I am just not into it.  It’s not my style.  I know others love it and that is great.  The club is not empty, does have active patrons and it looks all pink and dangerous.

Nevertheless, Zadi and I did our scheming, planning and overall enjoyed our time together.  I am going to drag her over to !Exodus! to show her how the Rockers do it and why we do it better.

Learning at SOMA; Rocking at !Exodus!

Its been a little while since I posted.  Honestly, real life has a way of stealing time from me.  Curious about that, check out the real life stuff over here.  Onto virtual living….

Since I was home sick and was mostly in a coma, my activities were limited to a television, an audio book, my music or a brief moment virtual world hopping.  My choice of the day was a class at the SOMA School of Design.  Visit their website here.  They hold some classes in world and sell classes that you can view through a special hud they have created.  The New Student Starter Package comes with the hud, which has 19 classes for you to view on your own time in world.  You can get that here.

Anyway, I popped into one of the classes on working with 3D objects in CS4.  The class was for both CS4 and CS5.  It comes in parts. I was only able to catch the first part.  Usually the classes happen during the day when I am at work.  But this is why I love this school.  I can do classes at my own pace as long as I have the class in my hud.  Eventually, I will go pickup the other parts.  I love being able to learn new things.  Especially things that can be used in multiple realities.

Upon landing, I rezzed a bit and then grabbed a seat.  This girl grabbed the same seat as I did and ended up sitting on my lap.  She sent me an IM saying “This is my seat.”  Problem is, she never looked to see that she was sitting on the edge of the seat.  I was in the center, which shows I was there first.

She had to stand up to resit herself after I moved.  Why did I move?  I have the flu and I really did not feel like giving someone that has been in world a while a lesson on politeness.  She is attached to that seat – meh – she can have it.  I was there to learn, not to fight.  So here is me concentrating on the lesson at hand.

The teacher was Katya Koolhaas.  She is patient, informative and knows her topic.  If you want to earnestly learn, skip the shortcuts and work through these huds.  There is an immense amount of information here.  You can find her at SOMA or in the virtual world of Second Life(R) and you can ask her any questions regarding SOMA.

Last week or maybe the week before, I loose track, I was back at my favorite club,!Exodus!.  It was a blast.  They never disappoint me.  I stop in randomly and I have to say, they are extremely consistent.  The DJ for the session was personable.  He paid attention to the chat while spinning tunes. Then he integrated aspects of the chat into his DJ set.  Not to much talk, and not to quiet, it was a fun set.  He even sang the TIGER song to us.  LOL!

The DJ did some quick avie changes, from the human to Tiger to Spongebob to a toaster.  His special love also had done some changing…she had a Miss Piggy and she did the toaster as well.  I grabbed some toaster snaps.  You will never see two toasters dancing together in real life, but you might in a virtual world.  Check it out ~ Dancing Toasters!!!

The Club!!! ~ !Exodus!

I wanted to share my favorite club within the virtual world of Second Life(R).  I am a rather shy person and its difficult to meet new people.  It truly is something that I struggle with.  Friendships come hard for me.

There is a club named !Exodus! that I am in love with!!  The DJ’s are a lot of fun.  The Hosts & Hostesses know how to keep just the right amount of conversation going.  I have yet to show up without someone greeting me.  Even the patrons greet people as they come and say bye as they go.

People are really there.  As in present.  They have not walked away in some kind of afk zone.  They are socializing, chatting away and dancing.  They respond to what the DJ is saying and to one another.  And they have events regularly.  Even during the hours that I am able to get there.

I have gone from club to club to club only to find lots of avatars dancing, but absolutely no communication going on.  O.o  Or …… barely anyone there and either some chatting or lots of gestures.  In  either case, its boring.  If I go to the club, first its the music I want to hear.  Second, I want to share the experience with someone.  I can stay on my own parcel and play music if I want to listen to it alone.  These factors are important and more important then how many blingy objects or how fancy the place may be.

I love my music and love music of all genres.  !Exodus! seemingly plays rock of various types.  Its fun, its awesome and its great.  I am in love love with this club.  If you want to check it out, use this link and tell them Neoma sent you.

Ahhh and here is a pic or two from the very club.
